"Excellent experience and tuition all top class. Stephanie is very patient! Will definitely be back." E Kennings

Learning to carriage

drive is a wonderful experience.  It’s good fun to learn and gives you a fantastic sense of well-being when you connect with the horses.

No previous experience of horses is necessary.  Non-riders often pick up the art of carriage driving more quickly than experienced horse riders.

Our aim is to provide training in an enjoyable, safe way to produce carriage drivers who respect equines, carriage drive with courtesy to road users and have a passion for the sport. Photos courtesy of Hazel Woodbridge.

"Excellent experience and Stephanie's knowledge was brilliant. We have learnt a tremendous amount and is an experience we won't forget" Fritha L.

OUR APPROACH TO HORSES

Gigi, our beautiful mare.

Our approach to handling horses is the ‘natural horsemanship’ way.  Body language and voice are used to communicate and build trust.  A good carriage driving horse will frequently flick an ear back to listen to you.   We also show you how to listen to what the carriage horses are telling you in return!

"Wonderful afternoon, so much information given in a very patient way. Gigi is the perfect horse for total novices. Would highly recommend for riders and non-riders." Ann & Kate H.

Based near 'Royal' Tetbury at the gateway to the Cotswolds, we are one hour and twenty minutes from London by train to the nearest train station (Kemble, 8 miles away).  Located at Long Newnton by the Gloucestershire/Wiltshire border, we are approximately 45 minutes drive from Bristol, Bath, Swindon, Cheltenham and Gloucester and an hour from Oxford and Reading.
